Building Cars, Building Memories
I grew up watching shows like “*Counting Cars”* or “*Leepu & Pitbull”*. Those shows weren’t just about cars—they were about passion, creativity, and the connection between the people building them. Our generation shares a deep bond with cars that goes beyond just driving; it's about dreaming, designing, and building something unique.
What if we could make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build their dream vehicle?
PrintYourVehicle.com is an open-source-first software that gives people the tools, designs, and resources to create cars (and bikes!) right in their garages. Imagine a father and son bringing a dream project to life together, or a group of friends working on the ultimate DIY car. It’s like LEGO, but for grown-ups—and with memories you can’t put a price on.
The inspiration came from websites like KitCarik, where it’s shown that with just cardboard and a home printer, people can start building cars. We’re taking that idea further creating a revolutionary platform where anyone can access software, 3D models, and guidance to make this dream a reality.
What’s the Plan?
- Start with an MVP (Minimum Viable Product):
- A software tool where users can select from a few iconic car designs like a Lamborghini or a Mustang and literally print them (not literally).
- Simple 3D models and guides to help people use everyday tools—like cardboard or basic 3D printers—to start building.
- Expand with Premium Features:
- Collaborate with big names like Aston Martin, McLaren, or F1 brands (probably just Indie designers in the beginning) to release special designs exclusively for the platform. Imagine building a car designed by the best in the world, right in your garage!
- Add motorcycles to the lineup, so people in developing countries or with smaller budgets can also join the movement.
- Create a Family Bonding Experience:
- This isn’t just about cars—it’s about the journey. Picture a father and son working together, building something incredible. That’s the kind of emotional connection we want to foster.
How We’ll Make Money:
- Marketplace Commissions:
- Not all 3D models or tools will be free. Creators can sell premium car models and parts on our platform, and we’ll take a small commission. This creates a thriving marketplace where designers can earn, and users get access to unique, high-quality designs.
- Enterprise Licenses:
- Offer a paid version of the software for Enterprises. This would include advanced features and tools for professionals, like auto shops or educational institutions. (I have a GenAI idea on this)
- Brand Collaborations (Future Scope, Like very-very future)
- Work with global car brands to release special edition designs on our platform. Fans can pay to access and build these exclusive cars, and we’ll share revenue with the brands.
